The IELTS has two formats of tests, (1) IELTS Academic Test and (2) IELTS General Training Test. Both the formats have four parts, 1) Listening Test, 2) Speaking Test, 3) Reading Test and  4) Writing Test. 11. Contractions which are used in spoken English, like Can’t, don’t are not to be used in written form. Write ‘Cannot, Do not’.

One just needs to pick and choose the right websites/blogs. For that, he can read the reviews of the website in concern and select the right one(s) for him. The free study materials are immensely helpful and are subject specific as well. If one faces some specific problems, he can get specific/applicable solutions for that on the Internet. Though we have already mentioned about how to use the article ‘The’, a few examples might be more helpful.

Some common rules for using ‘The’ are like:

• When we are talking about ‘Only one thing’ in a particular area, we can use ‘The’: ‘The police caught the thief.’/ ‘The hospital was ransacked by some hooligans.’
• When we are talking about something which is only one in the universe, we can use ‘The’: ‘On the internet, you will get some valuable tips related to your study.
• When we use superlatives: This accident is the worst in the last ten years./ The temperature dropped to the lowest degrees on 9th January in 2016

Here are some more examples. In the English language some nouns are uncountable. Hence they should always be in the singular form:

• He spends huge money for advertisings and foods. {Wrong, it should be advertisement, and food.}
• All his informations were useless. {Wrong, it should be information.}
• For scoring high on the IELTS you need to have huge knowledges over the English language. (Wrong, it should be knowledge.}

Thus some more words which have no plural forms are: Education, Money, Travel, Happiness, Works and much more. Apart from the examples cited above, there are dozens of more to mention like: using ‘The noun-verb agreement,’ using ‘To + infinite verb’ properly, which article to be used before which noun phrases, etc. An eligible candidate should be familiar with all ‘The rules’ mentioned so far and also he should have the right knowledge of ‘Exceptions’ to the rules as well. After studying the discussions made so far, some might have started thinking, ‘Oh! my God’, it’s impossible to learn so many things, it would take a year or two!
